After being challenged with fertility, in 2012, we were blessed to welcome twin girls into the family! Praise be to God and my Lord Jesus Christ! There are a whole lot of stories from then till now…………….

At week 24 of my pregnancy, I was sent to the hospital in premature labor. Given all the dark news that comes with that along with the numerous medications to improve the baby’s chance of survival the twins were born prematurely at 26 weeks, 6 days. Our micro-preemies had arrived. In the NICU, they battled for their lives every day. All we could do was pray and wait. God’s hand was on these girls! They overcame every obstacle and milestone without surgery. The days and years ahead would be filled with both challenges and opportunities to endure and overcome. One of the girls has cerebral palsy but continues to be extremely high functioning. I attribute her success to early intervention and follow through. Boy, had God prepared me in the earlier years! My steps were guided, and I was fortunate to have worked at the Pilates Certifying Center for 8 years, specifically working with an adult client with cerebral palsy who had spasticity and contracture of the muscles. This experience turned out to be directly applicable to my infant. She did therapeutic Pilates and neuro developing movement as an infant. Thank you, Lord, for the hands-on education and preparation!
